MiniRoos (U5 to U12)
MiniRoos is the FFA program for small sided football for boys and girls aged 4 to 12 years of age. The ERJSA has some specific rules that differ slightly, please read below to find out more.
The MiniRoos National Playing Formats and Rules are designed to get children ready to play 11 v 11 games. Players discover the differences in the size of the field and size of the goal and the benefits of having more space. It’s all about having fun, learning new skills and making life-long friends.
Under 5, Under 6, Under 7
2 x 15 minute halves with a 5 minute half time break.
4 v 4, no goalie, ball size 3.
Players must drop 5m back towards their own goal for kick ins and free kicks. Kick ins and free kicks should be a pass to another player.
It is the duty of all coaches to ensure players are not in offside positions. No slide tackles are allowed.
Coaches must not allow players to stand inside the goals or continually block them.
Under 8, Under 9
2 x 20 minute halves with a 5 minute half time break.
7 v 7, including goalie, ball size 3.
Players must drop 5m back towards their own goal for throw ins and free kicks.
It is the duty of all coaches to ensure players are not in offside positions. No slide tackles are allowed.
Coaches must not allow players to stand inside the goals or continually block them.
Under 10, Under 11
2 x 25 minute halves with a 5 minute half time break.
9 v 9, including goalie, ball size 4.

Under 12 (same format as U11)
2 x 25 minute halves with a 5 minute half time break.
9 v 9, including goalie, ball size 4.
It is the duty of all coaches to ensure players are not in offside positions. No slide tackles are allowed.
Obvious offside goals are disallowed.
